About Heart Ball

The Phoenix Heart Ball is the one of the oldest and most successful heart awareness and fundraising organizations in the nation. In fact, this organization was one of ten Heart Balls nationally to raise over $1 million for heart health awareness in 2008. With the bar already set high for 2009, the Phoenix Heart Ball committee has set its sights on raising $2 million for cardiovascular research and educational programs in Arizona and beyond. Should the Phoenix Heart Ball reach this goal, the organization will become the country's most successful fundraising venue for the American Heart Association.

What I Did

Members of the Phoenix Heart Ball came to me requesting a new logo for their organization, as the previous design was too loopy and informal, and it was said to slightly resemble the look of graffiti. To fix this, I used a more royal and elegant font, typical of the lettering you would find on towels at a first class hotel or 5-star restaurant. I then used complimentary colors for the organization that are common to the American Heart Association (in this case, I ended up using cherry red and stark white), ensuring the logo would become a stunning and elegant fixture at the top of their website.
