Good tips, client communications can be hard sometimes (I, myself prefer email to phone lol) It’s difficult dealing with some clients, especially ones who have had problems with previous designers, because they tend to expect you to make the same mistakes and are even more critical of your work than normal.

I believe if you have a made a considerable effort in working with a client and it is still not working out then sometimes it is best to politely part ways. Chances are doing so will increase productivity for both parties.

Other times you do not have a choice and your stuck with the client for better or worse. My best advice in this case is to just keep a positive attitude and take things one day at a time. The worst thing you can do is lock up and dread your job. Your work will suffer and things with the client will only get worse.
