About Doctor Finders

Doctor Finders is a consumer-oriented website designed to help patients find information on doctors, specialists, or medical procedures located throughout the United States. Using the custom search form, patients can search for doctors and medical services by geographical location, or filter their results to search by medical specialty or a specific practice area. In addition to matching patients with qualified doctors, Doctor Finders is also an online resource in which patients can find out the latest on medical devices, tests, and drug therapy. In the event that a specific procedure or specialty is not explained on the site, visitors are encouraged to contact the administrative team at Doctor Finders, as they will personally research the subject and assist each particular client in finding a subsequent doctor or service to best meets their needs.

What I Did

From the beginning of this project, I knew that creating a website to house a tremendous amount of information, in addition to serve as a fully functional community for doctors, would be quite challenging. To keep people on the site, the information would need to be presented in a very logical way so that the visitors could find the resources they needed in the least amount of steps possible. To accomplish this, I put together a layout that organized all of this information in sections that were clean and easy to navigate. I also designed a custom search feature that allows visitors to browse physicians, procedures, and products, or filter their results to include information that is specifically relevant to the user. To further ensure users are not distracted or overwhelmed with information, I implemented color selections to highlight each section. As a result of this strategic web design, Doctor Finders has seen an increase in activity among patients looking for doctors, but also doctors looking for patients and leads, as well.
